Chasing the Ultimate Fishing Experience in Valdez

Pulled into our campground last night yesterday evening and we weren’t too impressed because it’s a giant parking lot but you don’t come here to set at your campground. You come here to go fishing, which is why we’re here and why we’re staying in this campground because we have friends who have invited us out to do just that. We’re super stoked because we’ve never been fishing in Alaska out on the ocean, so we’re gonna go fishing for hopefully some really, really big fish.

There’s our sweet ride. Our Alaskan friends Greg and Danielle fish in Valdez a lot, and they’re taking us to some of their favorite hotspots. One of the downsides of fishing in Valdez is that you have to go a ways out to get to the salmon and even further to get to the halibut. But the upside of this is it’s a spectacular ride out. I mean, look at the scenery in there so far. Just try to mimic some of the classic I don’t know anything about official. Keep going so it pops out the other end, okay? Right there. Boy, if you kind of think the fish comes in from behind you, if it pulls back, that’s what you wanted to get hooked on. Gotcha.

Our Alaskan adventure has brought us to the beautiful waters of Valdez, where we are ready to embark on an exciting fishing trip. Despite the simple campground setup, our focus is not on our accommodation but on the thrilling experience of deep-sea fishing. Our friends, Greg and Danielle, seasoned anglers in Valdez, have graciously invited us to join them in their favorite fishing spots, and we couldn’t be more thrilled. While the journey to the best fishing spots may be a bit of a trek, the stunning scenery along the way makes it all worth it.

As we gear up for our fishing excursion, we are learning the ropes of ocean fishing, including the techniques for catching salmon and halibut. With guidance from our experienced friends, we are mastering the art of baiting, setting up the gear, and reeling in our catches. Each strike is met with excitement and determination, with each catch adding to the thrill of the adventure. Our time in Valdez promises to be filled with big fish, unforgettable moments, and the satisfaction of a successful fishing trip.
